3 Generations- Mommy + Me Mini

I am a huge advocate for having family photos done often. I know we all have a camera in our pocket these days but there is just something special about having a photo session done. Picking out the clothes, setting the date, creating fun activities with your photographer are all a part of that makes the experience so exciting for kids and adults alike. (Even the grumpiest of dads and husbands end up enjoying the process)
With all of that being said, I have another opinion to add onto that same idea. After my latest sessions, I realized something new. Here it is- At least once in your life, as an adult, you should have photos taken with your parents.
When I offered Mommy + Me Mini Sessions in time for Mother’s Day, I told all of the women that they were welcome to bring their mothers along. One family took me up on it and I can say that these images will be ones that they will cherish forever. It’s simple and sweet and something this daughter can hold onto after the older generations have passed.
THESE moments are why I do what I do.
And think about what she has created for her daughters… a small collection of beautiful memories for them to pass on and the experience of getting dressed up with Nana to play and have pictures taken.
I understand your thoughts. Photo sessions are too expensive, I’m too busy, I still haven’t lost that baby weight… Trust me when I say I hear you and I understand. But when you put all of that aside and take the time to experience a session like this, it’s rare, it’s beautiful and it’s worth it.
I’m a family photographer in the St. Louis area. I blog about my photography sessions, raising young children and what moms should know when they’re looking to hire a family photographer. If that’s interesting to you, sign up below to get email updates straight to your inbox. Thanks for reading!

Im Emily. Oh hey!

Hi, I'm Emily. I'm a St. Louis Family and Lifestyle Photographer and this is my blog!

As a busy mother of 2, I know how quickly time can slip through your fingers. Being able to take the most simple and precious moments in my daughters’ lives and turn them into art that our family can admire forever has been a wonderful experience. The best part about it? I can do the same for you.
