5 MOMENTS – April 2017

My top 5 favorite moments from March 2017

Each month, I look back in reflection on my favorite moments, captures or days. This, in a nutshell, is what I love about photography; documenting the little things. It also provides a glimpse into the past to provoke emotions, share memories and tell stories.

1.Target trips with my littles

For some reason, I have found that I spend most time at Target during the Spring and Winter months. And since my littles are now old enough to appreciate the wonderful-ness that is Target, they love coming with me. I enjoy our little moments- me perusing the isles while they enjoy the box of goldfish they get every time we go. Come to think of it, maybe the goldfish are the real reason they love going so much. Either way, I like thinking it’s because they enjoy the quality time with mom, so i’m just going to stick with that.

2. Easter with our Family

One of the hardest things about getting older is seeing your elders get older. It is an unfortunate truth there is an inevitable end to our lives and if we are lucky enough we will get to see our children and their children grow into adults. This truth is one the reasons why we try to spend each holiday enjoying our elders to the fullest. I love stepping back, and capturing the small moments of these gatherings as I know someday we will look back and they won’t be so small anymore. Rather, they will be the moments we treasure the most.

3. We FINALLY met our wonderful neighbors

This title may be a little misleading. It probably sounds likes we just had some new neighbors move in and it’s taken us a little longer than usual to meet them. The truth is, we have been neighbors for at least 2 years now and other than your basic neighborly “hello” and short introduction, we have never spent much time getting to know them. Until this month. They have a wonderful, kind 5 year old girl and our babes have taken so kindly to her and vice versa. Now every afternoon is spent in the sun of the cul-de-sac playing soccer and baseball, riding bikes, coloring with chalk and countless other childhood activities that remind us all of being young. We are so grateful for this wonderful family and look forward to making many more memories with them as our littles grow.

4. First Pool Session!

Hello, Summer! Except it’s only April. We have been fortunate enough have beautiful weather this spring and we took full advantage of this on the warmest day of the month by bringing out the kiddie pool, inviting over the neighbors and catching our first sunburns. It was a good day.

Hi, I'm Emily. I'm a St. Louis Family and Lifestyle Photographer and this is my blog!

As a busy mother of 2, I know how quickly time can slip through your fingers. Being able to take the most simple and precious moments in my daughters’ lives and turn them into art that our family can admire forever has been a wonderful experience. The best part about it? I can do the same for you.
