Each month, I look back in reflection on my favorite moments, captures or days. This, in a nutshell, is what I love about photography; documenting the little things. It also provides a glimpse into the past to provoke emotions, share memories and tell stories.
1.Swimming. Lots and lots of swimming
At the beginning of the month, my mom moved back to St. Louis from California and we were over the moon with excitement about having her here. We wasted no time in making ourselves at home in her beautiful salt water pool. The babes were a bit timid at first but in no time at all, they have turned from standing in the shallow end to swimming like little fishes. Nice to have you back mom (and thanks for the pool)!
2. Reconnecting and this adorable babe
Not only did my mom move back but another close friend of mine from high school moved back to St. Louis and we finally had a chance to catch up. Last time we were both living here we were Juniors in HS without a care in the world and now we are both married with babies of our own. It’s a reality check as to how fast time really does fly. After much catching up, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph her adorable little babe just in time for his 6 month photos. Looking forward to many more years of friendship with these amazing peeps.
3. Father’s Day Fun
This year, with most of our family on vacation, we enjoyed a nice quiet and relaxed holiday, doing everything my husband wanted to do. His activities of choice included canoeing at Creve Coeur Lake Park, a family walk with our 4-legged friend, eating his favorite homemade pulled pork and an afternoon of, you guessed it, swimming.
4. Monkeying Around
I love these simple moments. And it was completely impromptu, might I add.
5. Grant’s Farm
Remember those wonderful friends I mentioned in item #2? Well they had the best idea to take the kiddos to Grant’s Farm for the day. My babes had been before but I had never had the pleasure of visiting this adorable little animal oasis. We braved the heat and made it a day to remember for years to come!
