Each month, I look back in reflection on my favorite moments, captures or days. This, in a nutshell, is what I love about photography; documenting the little things. It also provides a glimpse into the past to provoke emotions, share memories and tell stories.
1.Outdoor Photo Sessions
Hallelujah! Rejoice! Outdoor sessions are officially back in season! There are many parts of the country where year round outdoor sessions are possible. St. Louis just isn’t one of them. So when the days get longer and temperature starts to rise, local photographers jump with joy as they are able to break free from the studio and head to local parks. A few of my favorite are Faust Park, Creve Coeur Park and the always wonderful Tower Grove Park. I am looking forward to working at these and many more for the rest of the year.
2. Birthdays! And dinner with this stud
Whether we like it or not, birthdays keep coming. Once a year to be exact! And as I’ve gotten older I am finally realizing why they get less exciting.. because getting old isn’t always the greatest feeling. I know many may be rolling their eyes because I’m only in my late 20s but regardless, the birthdays are officially not as fun as they once were. However, getting to spend each year with this guy softens the blow. And as long as I get to keep spending them with him, I guess I don’t have much to complain about at all.
3. Surveying the Storm Damage
After the crazy winds we experiences a couple of weeks back, we went on a tour of the neighborhood to see some of the damage. It was incredible to witness some of the massive trees that had fallen over, a few nearly missing homes. Luckily, most of the damage was superficial but I know some other parts of the city were less fortunate.
4. Reliving My Childhood
If you missed the post of sprinklers and watermelon, you can read about it here. We had so much fun that afternoon running and jumping through the cool water. Followed by mouthfuls of juicy watermelon. It was a wonderful combination that I think we will have to relive many times this season.
5. Dog Toys
This toy was chosen for our dog by my oldest daughter. She can’t read much yet so all she saw was a squeaky hotdog. On the other hand, we saw this toy in all of it’s hilarious glory.
I’m a family photographer in the St. Louis area. I blog about my photography sessions, raising young children and what moms should know when they’re looking to hire a family photographer. If that’s interesting to you, sign up below to get email updates straight to your inbox. Thanks for reading!
