5 Moments- September 2018

Each month, I look back in reflection on my favorite moments, captures or days. This, in a nutshell, is what I love about photography; documenting the little things. It also provides a glimpse into the past to provoke emotions, share memories and tell stories.

1.Fun Family Backyard Hangs

As the last weekend of Summer came and went, we spent as much as possible outside, breaking in our new backyard. A few activities that you could find us doing- playing in the treehouse, practicing baseball, dancing, roasting marshmallows for s’mores, kicking around the soccer ball, cleaning up pine needles and enjoying last days of the summer sun.

2. Back to school (Officially)

This is our second year taking these fun, back to school photos but our first year of actual school. That’s right, we officially have a kindergartener. *Enter mom sobs here* The transition was so seamless and easy that I almost forgot to be sad. A new home, new state, new school. I thought for sure the kids would feel a brunt of the change but in reality, they handled it the best. They showed off their resilience, positive attitudes and ability to adjust to anything life throws at them. They taught me a thing or two about how to handle these changes and made me one proud momma.

3. Exploring our new home

The best part about living right next to the mountains? Hiking them! Our little adventurers’ absolutely love a good hike so we were sure to get them out as much as possible before the weather change. We haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of what this area offers and we are so excited to continue the explorations.

4. A Bunch of Firsts

New schools, new states and new homes offer plenty of “firsts” but just in case that wasn’t enough, this little man went on his first plane ride. He was a champion and quite the fun travel buddy. The airplane gods not only blessed us with safe travel to and from but both directions gave us an open middle seat. Can I get an amen?

5. Golden Hour Maternity

Yes I already wrote an entire post about this but I had to share it here because I just can’t get enough of it!

I’m a family photographer in the Boulder and Denver area. I blog about my photography sessions, raising young children and what moms should know when they’re looking to hire a family photographer. Im Emily. Oh hey!

Hi, I'm Emily. I'm a St. Louis Family and Lifestyle Photographer and this is my blog!

As a busy mother of 2, I know how quickly time can slip through your fingers. Being able to take the most simple and precious moments in my daughters’ lives and turn them into art that our family can admire forever has been a wonderful experience. The best part about it? I can do the same for you.
