I have to be completely honest for a moment. I felt like the 4th of July was never going to end.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love summertime BBQs and celebrating America as much as the next suburbanite, however, 5 straight days of activities, BBQs, get togethers and celebrations can be extremely wearing. I felt like I was stuck in a modern-day 4th of July version of Groundhog Day. Waking every morning thinking we were back to normal only to find we had yet another BBQ to attend.
Not to mention, my waistline isn’t feeling and slender as it was before consuming hotdog after hamburger and so on.
I say all of that to poke fun at the loooooong weekend but all in all, we had a lot of fun. We shared many laughs and great meals with family and friends and our girls experienced their first fireworks display. It was wonderful.
One particular day we spent some time by the pool and enjoyed every sun drenched moment. Waterslides, canon balls, floaty races and great-grandma even got in the pool to swim her great-granddaughters.
Here are just a few of my favorite captures of our time together.
