Summertime, sunshine, good friends and fresh peaches.
What more could you ask for?
Last holiday weekend we decided to brave the afternoon heat and take the babes out to a local farm (many St. Louisans will know well) called Eckert’s. Every year Eckert’s offers all kinds of wonderful fresh picked, local, homegrown produce. Many of which, you can come pick yourself. I am sad to say that this was actually the first time we have ever taken advantage of this activity but it is far from the last. (Check back this fall for apple picking post 😉 )
The farm is about 45 minutes from where we live but well worth the jaunt. I love doing these sorts of activities with the girls as they grow because I believe the connection to nature is one we have lost touch with. I want to instill a love of the outdoors and understanding of where food comes from within my littles. And small things like this help to grow that love everyday.
Here are a few of my favorite captures from our time at Eckert’s.
