Im Emily. Oh hey!

Meet Emily…

First and foremost, I’m a mom. This means I am also a chef, house keeper, referee, ouchie healer, hair stylist, and laundry machine (and I mean MACHINE).  I am fortunate enough to have an amazing support system and best friend; my loving husband who never stops helping.  We love and adore our daughters. They are the reason (along with coffee, big thanks to coffee!) I happily jump out of bed every morning and tackle whatever the day has to throw at me. Family is my lifeline and without them I would be lost. In my free time, I am semi addicted to fitness, cooking, and romantic comedies.

As a busy mother of 2, I know how quickly time can slip through your fingers. I have always loved having a having a camera in my hand, but motherhood has allowed this lifelong passion for photography to grow wildly. Being able to take the most simple and precious moments in my daughters’ lives and turn them into art that our family can admire forever has been a wonderful experience. The best part about it? I can do the same for you.

Our Philosophy

REAL. SIMPLE. FUN

Our goal is to capture you and your family in the most authentic way possible. Though we guide the session with posing and small direction, the ultimate goal is to create moments that show your connection with loved ones and capture genuine personalities.

I understand that the details of a session can be a little overwhelming. That’s why our goal is to make it as simple as possible for our clients. We stay in touch with complete correspondence from start to finish and never keep you guessing. We provide you with any and all information you may need to ensure that this process is stress-free.

Life is too short to not have fun and the same idea goes for your photo session. With everything from bubbles and tickles to dancing and jokes, we plan your session with exciting activities to ensure that everyone will be smiling from start to finish.

Our Story

Emily has been photographing as hobby for over 10 years. However, after the birth of her first child, she realized how important the ever-fleeting moments of childhood are to parents and set out to turn her passion into a career. With the support of her loving husband, they are opening their first photography studio in 2017 under the name, Family First Photography and plan to never look back. We put our Family First and know you do too. Let us help you create and capture moments that will last a lifetime.

Fun Facts

(hover over each box for some fun)

I love to travel but am a terrible packer.
No matter how much I plan ahead,
I will always forget at least
1 important item..
like a coat or hair brush.
I wish I was joking.
I am a pen and paper girl.
I love technology as much
as the next person
but my planner is still made of paper
and it goes everywhere with me.
I am originally from California
and have moved back and forth
from St. Louis to the Bay Area
a total of 3 times.
Other than behind a camera,
my second favorite place to be is
in the kitchen.
I love cooking for others
and feeding my family
with healthy, tasty foods.
Dinner parties are my guilty
pleasure because cooking
for others makes me so happy.
We have a wonderful 7 year
old american bulldog named Bear.
He has been with us since my
husband and I first started dating.
He was my first baby
and I love him dearly.
He likes apple cores, snuggling
in bed and has his own voice
which we use to express
his emotions (far too often).
We are a very outdoorsy family.
When the weather permits,
we are outside all the time.
I am proudly a self taught
photographer.
I picked up my first SLR camera
and started on my journey
to becoming a professional
photographer. I have learned
through error, mentors
and lots and lots of reading.
I have a sweet tooth that
is never satisfied
but can be sometimes
tamed with chocolate.
Preferably in the form of cookies
or ice cream.
My family is
my everything
and they
always
come
first.

Moments captured today,

stories that will live forever.
