I don’t often do engagement and wedding photography but when I do, my clients happen to pick the most amazing locations. This beautiful bride-to-be wanted to stick with an earthy vibe to her photos so we went with creeks, open fields and tall grasses. The outcome is something that I am very proud of.
I have known this couple for quite some time after I photographed their daughter’s first birthday with a family photo session. So when they started to plan their wedding and asked me to be the one to capture their big day, I was thrilled with the opportunity to work with them again. They are sweet, easy-going and lots of fun to work with.
They are having a fall wedding so we were trying to get their engagement photos session done last fall to match the aesthetic of the wedding but busy schedules and poor weather worked against us so we decided to wait until spring. On the day of this session, rain loomed in the forecast but we were unable to push it back any further so we went for it. The entire day was sunny and beautiful but as I drove west towards the location, the dark clouds began rolling in. The cloud coverage gave us beautiful light while they walked barefoot in the creek, the clouds gave way to some nice warm light while they lounged in an open field but as we headed into the second outfit, the clouds began to open to rain. We managed to find a covered picnic spot for a piggy back ride while we waited. After the rain showed no signs of stopping, they chose to embrace it and ran headfirst into the storm and started to dance.
All in all, I would say it was highly successful and I look forward to their wedding day! Here are a few of my favorite shots.
